A Lockport man is recovering at ECMC and facing potential charges over a dinnertime crash in the Town of Amherst on Wednesday.
Investigators say 18 year-old Elian Cruz was speeding along the 990 and lost control while turning onto the ramp for the Westbound 290. Police say the SUV then flipped over at least twice before landing in the median.
According to police, a witness said the driver was cutting people off and speeding just moments before the crash.
Cruz suffered cuts to his face and a leg injury. One of his passengers was also taken ECMC with abdominal injuries.
Police say charges are pending as they continue to investigate.
