Investigators say a Sardinia man was speeding and under the influence of drugs when he crashed in Colden April 12, killing one of his passengers.
Kody Schroeder, 19, is charged with felony vehicular manslaughter and vehicular assault.
The Erie County Sheriff's Office says Schroeder hit the back of another vehicle on Center Road in Colden before crashing into a ditch. The crash killed Chauncy Kloiber, who was riding in the back seat. A front-seat passenger suffered serious injuries.
Schroeder was arraigned Friday morning in Colden Town Court and is locked up at the Erie County Holding Center on $50,000 bail. He is due back in court July 12.
