Dozens of community members gathered Wednesday morning to urge Governor Andrew Cuomo to save Western New York Children's Psychiatric Center.

The New York State Public Employees Federation (PEF) are fighting to keep the facility open to protect the children they serve. PEF members say their concern is not personal, as no jobs would be lost, but are concerned for the children who would be moved to an adult psychiatric center.

The demonstration is part of a national day of action, co-sponsored by the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) and the Alliance to Reclaim Our Schools (AROS), with more than 100,000 participating in similar events at over 2,000 schools in 200 cities.
