Posted at 6:15 AM, Jan 29, 2016

A 16-year-old boy was injured when the car he was riding in collided with a state snow plow.

Police say just before 3 a.m. Friday, a vehicle driven by Alexander Leone, 18, of Amherst crossed the center line on Sheridan Drive near North Forest and collided with a snow plow.

The eastbound lanes were closed for about an hour because of the crash.

The plow driver was not injured. A 16-year-old boy in Leone's vehicle suffered a cut to his forehead and a fractured vertebrae. Both he and Leone were taken to ECMC for treatment.

Leone was issued for tickets for failing to keep right and moving from lane unsafely.

The crash remains under investigation.
