The New York State Department of Transportation will host a public informational hearing, highlighting the Route 198 makeover project.

The project would transform the Scajaquada Expressway into an "urban boulevard", incorporating intersections, more pedestrian walkways and bicycle paths. The landscaping would also change to include more aesthetic elements, like trees and decorative lighting. These changes would hopefully create a "gateway" to Buffalo's parks.

This project is expected to cost around $115 million, funded by state and federal dollars.

The public hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, August 8th at 5:30 p.m. at the Bulger Communications Center at Buffalo State, located at 1300 Elmwood Avenue.
