The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is warning drone owners about scammers offering to 'help' register their drones with the FAA.

The FAA says multiple online sites are offering to help drone owners apply for a registration number. The website looks similar to the FAA's website and suggests that they are approved by the organization.

Some of the websites are charging owners up to $150, according to the agency.

The federal organization adds that none of the entities claiming to be affiliated with the organization are approved by the agency.

The FAA asks owners to register their drones at the 'FAA Drone Zone.' It costs $5 to register your drone with the FAA.
