A dog fighting operation at a Congress Street home was raided by SPCA animal cruelty investigators Thursday afternoon.

The SPCA says two dogs, one puppy and dog fighting paraphernalia were found at 207 Congress Street. Investigators also found four different types of treadmills, weights, vitamins and other items commonly used in training dogs to fight. Officers and members of the SPCA's Animal Care Team were at the scene to remove the equipment.

The dogs were transported to the SPCA's Tonawanda Shelter for examinations and care at 205 Ensminger Road.

Charges against the alleged owner of the animals and paraphernalia are pending.
