The Niagara County Sheriff's Office rescued a distressed boater on Lake Ontario Monday.
Dispatchers said they received a call sometime after 3 p.m. from a man who said he had gone overboard from his 30-foot sailboat, which was heading to shore.
Dispatchers were able to locate him by using his cell phone coordinates. He was found and rescued just after 5 p.m., and was taken to Wilson. He did not have to be hospitalized.
