Erie Community College has agreed to resolve equal opportunity issues within its athletics program.
The Office for Civil Rights (OCR) investigated a complaint that alleged women only represented about one-third of athletes at the Buffalo college but made up about half of the student population.
Under the voluntary resolution, ECC announced it will have a new procedure for students beginning in the next school year.
The college also agreed to conduct periodic assessments of student athletics interests and abilities in subsequent years to ensure the plan is working.
