About five hypodermic needles were found under the bench at the NFTA Bus Stop near Clinton and Ellicott in Downtown Buffalo.

A 7 Eyewitness News viewer first brought it to our attention late Sunday night. After contacting the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority, we went to check it out for ourselves.

Our crew found plenty of trash, beer cans, and needles.

The bus stop is located just feet away from the NFTA Headquarters.

Late Monday evening NFTA Public Affairs Director, Helen Tederous sent this statement,

"The staff at NFTA/Metro works hard to keep the area in and around our bus stops clean and safe for our riders. After learning about the discarded needles at the bus stop the debris was immediately cleaned up," Tederous said.
