Detectives are asking for the public's help to solve a March 2017 homicide on Grand Island.

According to the Erie County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a first aid call at the Country Glenn Apartments on Bedell Road in the morning hours on March 11, 2017.

The victim, 38-year-old Cheryl Mayes, was found and taken to Kenmore Mercy Hospital where she later died. A medical examiner ruled Mayes' death a homicide by blunt force trauma to the head.
