An Erie County Sheriff's Deputy broke into a car on Tuesday afternoon after an infant was accidentally locked inside a running car.

When Deputies Vogl and Yavicoli arrived on scene they said the nine-month-old baby's face was turning red and was turning red when they arrived.

According to the Erie County Sheriff's Office, the parents were unable to find a spare key for the car. The father gave one of the deputies permission to break a window to get to the baby.

The mother helped get the child out of the car and immediately rushed the infant into the house to place the child in a tub and run cool water over the baby. The child immediately responded and became alert and responsive.

Emergency Medical Services personnel were there and evaluated the infant and immediately released the baby back to the parents.

The deputies' investigation ruled the incident an accident and no charges were filed.
