Two Erie County Sheriff's deputies are recovering after being attacked by inmates two separate days.

On June 13th, one deputy was punched in the face by an inmate, and had to be taken to ECMC.  The Sheriff's Office says the deputy was attacked by inmate Troung Cao, who was in an inmate holding area at the time.

Cao is being held at the holding center on public lewdness charges.  He was then charged with felony counts of assault with intent to cause injury to an officer, and assault while confined in a correctional facility.  The deputy will be out of work, and Cao is scheduled to be arraigned on June 15th.

The second deputy was assaulted on June 15th.  The Sheriff's Office says inmate Cashmeire Albert bit the deputy on the arm, puncturing the skin and causing bleeding and swelling.  The deputy was taken to ECMC to be treated.  Albert was being held on felony forgery charges, and is now charged with a felony count of assault while confined in a correctional facility.  He's also set to be arraigned June 15th.
