NYSEG reports 2,271 customers in Depew were without power early Wednesday morning.

Restoration times were moved up throughout Wednesday morning.  It was originally expected back on at 5:00 a.m. Wednesday.  That time was furthered to 7:00 a.m.  At 8:00 a.m., NYSEG was still reporting 2,271 outages.  However, a spokesperson told 7 Eyewitness News, all power was restored as of 7:45 a.m.  We were then told at 8:30, there were still 3,500 outages around Erie county and things should be back up and running at 9:00 a.m.

Depew firefighters say the power outage was caused by a fire in a major power line, Tuesday.  The power line caught fire during Tuesday's powerful wind and rain storm.
