Darien Lake will soon have a new roller coaster the park touts as the first of its kind in the state of New York!
It's called the Tantrum.
The 98-foot-tall coaster will take riders literally straight up the first hill and drop them at a 97-degree angle, for an inverted first drop.
It tops out at 52 miles per hour as the ride snakes around, even flipping upside-down in what's known as an Immelmann turn!
Darien Lake's seventh roller coaster comes as part of a $5 million addition to the park, and is set to open in May of 2018, just in time for the start of the season!
