The Daemen College campus community is attempting to shave off a couple minutes in response time when it comes to medical emergencies.
Daemen College established the Daemen College Rescue Squad, a team of 32 EMT certified students, to provide medical services to faculty and students.
The student-run squad is one of about 250 programs instituted at colleges across the country.
"This initiative highlights our position as a leader in health science education," says Daemen President Gary Olson. Olson says it's a chance for students to gain real-life practice while benefiting the campus community.
The DCRS is in partnership with Twin City Ambulance.
