Cynthia Nixon used her first trip to Albany since announcing her bid for New York governor, to blast the state's current governor.

The "Sex and the City" star and public education advocate called Gov. Andrew Cuomo a bully and a "wannabe Republican" and member of Albany's "old boys club," who is touting himself as a Republican.

She said Cuomo has failed to ensure equal opportunities for poor and minority students, and also faulted his effort to combat government corruption.

Last week, Nixon announced she will challenge Cuomo in September's Democratic primary for governor.

The Associated Press reached out to Cuomo's campaign for a response. Messages were not immediately returned.
