Top New York officials are looking towards the federal government to help crack down on gun control.
Governor Andrew Cuomo and Senator Charles Schumer asked the federal government Sunday to help the state block people on the terror watch list from legal gun purchases.
Cuomo and Schumer also say New York should be able to do criminal background checks on people who are on the watch list.
