New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo is proposing to extend the New York State Film Tax Credit Program through 2022.
According to the Governors office, the tax credit program has had a major impact on New York States economy, leading to record job growth and more post-production facilities across the Empire State.
The Governors office says more than 1000 projects submitted applications to the program since 2011, generating $15 billion in spending.
Cuomo's proposed 2017-2018 budget includes a full extension of the Film Tax Credit Program at $420 million per year through 2022.
