A 10-year-old boy was taken to the hospital Tuesday morning, after being hit by a patrol car.
Police say the boy was crossing the street near School #3 (near the intersection of Niagara and Porter) and was not in a cross-walk at the time. The patrol car was responding to a call of a man with a gun.
The boy was taken to Women and Children's Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

According to Lieutenant Rinaldo, the officer involved is still "shaken up." BPD says it takes these incidents seriously and are continuing to investigate.
Buffalo Public Schools will send home a safety letter with students to remind and encourage parents to drop their children off where crossing guards are located, at School #3 and all other schools, to prevent more incidents like this one.
Police say the accident has no affect on the school day, which will continue as usual.
