A teenage girl was forced to jump from a second story window during a house fire on the Buffalo-Cheektowaga border.

The fire broke out just after 5 a.m. Monday morning near the intersection of Humason Avenue and Genesee Street in Buffalo.

Neighbors tell our breaking news crew that they woke up to the sound of screaming and saw a teenage girl jump out of a second story window.

There were eight people in the home when the fire broke out, three adults and two children.  Everyone made it out okay, but two people were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Our breaking news crew on the scene reported seeing crews helping a middle-aged man into an ambulance. He was responsive.

There was only one working smoke alarm in the home at the time the fire broke out.

There was $45,000 in damages to the home, and $20,000 in damages to contents inside the home.
