A crash between several tractor trailers and vehicle closed the westbound lanes of the NYS Thruway.
The accident happened around 2:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Traffic was forced to exit at Exit 59 (Dunkirk) and I-90 West was closed between Exits 59-60.
It's unclear what caused the accident, but these pictures from Dan Kohler show several vehicles involved. It's unknown if anyone was injured.
Traffic was backed up for at least half a mile behind the accident scene.
After the accident was cleared, the Thruway re-opened and traffic began to move again.
