An accident between a car and a truck pulling a horse trailer Friday afternoon sent a reported six victims to three separate Niagara County hospitals.
It happened around 3 p.m. in Wrights Corners. After the truck and car collided, the car spun into a stone wall while the truck went off the road and slammed into a large pine tree, snapping the axle and ramming wood into the engine. The trailer behind it came forward.
Two horses that were inside the trailer appeared to survive the incident, though they were tossed around and one suffered a cut. As it happens, a large animal specialist happened to be passing by and stopped to check on the animals.
The accident is being investigated by the Niagara County Sheriff's Office.
