Just hours from now the former Millard Fillmore Gates Circle Hospital will only be a memory for Buffalo residents.
Demolition crews will use 400 pounds of explosives to take down the facility. Hundreds of spectators are expected to watch the implosion at 7 a.m. on Saturday.
Buffalo Police have already made plans on how they will keep everyone in the area safe.
Mayor Byron Brown says there will be four warning alarms on Saturday morning for residents (6:30 a.m., 6:50 a.m., 6:57 a.m., and 6:59 a.m.) letting nearby residents know the implosion is about to take place.
A number of streets for about four square blocks in the Gates Circle Area will be shutdown. They will not reopen until things are deemed safe following the implosion.
