A coughing spell caused a man to crash through a guardrail on the highway.
Tonawanda City Police say Joseph Giambra, 31, was driving on the Twin City Highway Monday when he began coughing so much he drove off of the highway, crashed through the guardrail and landed on the center median.
According to officials, a DMV check of Giambra showed his vehicle registration was suspended because he had no insurance.
Police say Giambra was not injured and was issued a summons for the suspension.
