An Erie County Corrections Officer is recovering from a head injury after being attacked by an inmate.
Officials say Dayshawn Hopper attacked the officer. He was immediately restrained and placed in a secure area.
Patrol Deputies arrested Hopper and charged him with assault and obstruction of government administration.
Hopper was serving a three-month in the correctional facility after his conviction for introducing contraband into a prison.
No word yet on if he will be facing additional jail time.
