Wrestling fans will no longer be able to attend Wrestlemania 36 in Florida. The event is still scheduled for April 5th, but World Wrestling Entertainment announced on Monday that the event is being moved from Tampa Bay and will only be available to fans on a live stream.
WWE issued the following statement via social media:
“In coordination with local partners and government officials, WrestleMania and all related events in Tampa Bay will not take place. However, WrestleMania will still stream live on Sunday, April 5 at 7 pm ET on WWE Network and be available on pay-per-view. Only essential personnel will be on the closed set at WWE’s training facility in Orlando, Florida to produce WrestleMania.”
Wrestlemania 36 joins a list of major events to be changed or canceled due to concerns surrounding COVID-19.
