BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Hospital workers across Western New York have the lowest COVID-19 vaccination rate in New York State.
According to the state's COVID-19 vaccine tracker, just 65% of hospital staff in Western New York have gotten at least one dose of the vaccine.
Statewide, 76% of hospital workers have received at least one dose.
Chautuaqua County leads Western New York's hospital worker vaccination effort, getting the shot to 75% of employees. 36 counties across the state have a vaccination rate of at least 72%.

Last month, Governor Cuomo threatened to cut off hospitals that did not use their allocated supply of the COVID-19 vaccine.
At that point the statewide vaccination rate for hospitals was 46%.
