BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Wegmans announced Wednesday it has secured masks for its employees to allow them to adhere to new CDC advice on face coverings in public during the COVID-19 outbreak.
Last week the CDC began recommending the public use non-medical or non-surgical grade masks while in public to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
"We are fortunate to have secured enough masks, arriving at stores in the next few days, to make it possible for our people to adhere to this advice," a release on the Wegmans website states.
Wegmans has taken several steps to protect its employees and customers amid the COVID-19 outbreak such as installing Plexiglass barriers at registers and enforcing social distancing standards.
