BLASDELL, N.Y. (WKBW) — If you have tried to place an Instacart delivery or curbside pickup order recently you may have been surprised by days long waits for grocery deliveries.
Wegmans is now launching a pilot program to help address those waits as more and more people are opting for home delivery of groceries during the COVID-19 pandemic and New York PAUSE order.
The pilot program was launched last week in Monroe County and is coming to the Buffalo area this week, starting with the Blasdell location on McKinley Parkway. Three more area stores will be added next week.
Wegmans employees will be using Instacart's technology to fill curbside orders along side Instacart shoppers, freeing up Instacart shoppers to focus more on the home delivery orders.
