NIAGARA COUNTY, N.Y. (WKBW) — Eastern Niagara Hospital and Niagara County have agreed to turn the former Newfane Intercommunity Hospital into a temporary home for quarantined individuals. The site, which previously functioned as a hospital, already has the necessary infrastructure in place to protect those infected and contain the spread of COVID-19 Kevin Schuler from Niagara County and Carolyn Moore from ENH said in a joint press release. They also say the site will be used for those effected by the virus, are not showing symptoms and cannot be quarantined in their home for various reasons.
In the press release Niagara County Public Health Director Daniel Stapleton said, “This partnership between Eastern Niagara Hospital and Niagara County is the type of collaboration and cooperation our community needs as we work our way through the COVID-19 pandemic. We are all in this together.”
