NEW YORK (WKBW) — New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced Thursday summer school throughout the state will be conducted through distance learning due to COVID-19.

Cuomo said there will be no in-class summer school as an effort to continue to control and stop the spread of COVID-19, meal programs and child care services will continue.

The governor also said its too early to make a determination on the fall semester, but the state will issue guidelines in June so schools and colleges can prepare for different scenarios. Plans will be submitted for approval to state in July.
