ORLEANS COUNTY (WKBW) — Officials for the Genesee and Orleans County Health Departments announced Tuesday a significant number of attendees may have been exposed to COVID-19 at an Orleans County wedding.

The wedding took place at a private property on Acton Road in the Town of Clarendon on October 17.

“A significant number of known close contacts have been identified through contact tracing and have been placed under mandatory quarantine or isolation. However, there are individuals that attended the wedding that were not part of the original guest list and those contacts may not be aware they may have been exposed to the virus," said public health director Paul Pettit.

During a briefing with reporters on Wednesday, Governor Cuomo said there were 18 confirmed COVID-19 positive cases stemming from the event.

Officials say if you attended the wedding you should continue to monitor your symptoms through Saturday, October 31, 2020. If you develop symptoms you should contact your primary care provider immediately and self-isolate until you receive test results.
