Rite Aid opens two additional COVID-19 testing sites in Buffalo, offering self-swab tests

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Rite Aid announced on July 16 it is opening 161 additional COVID-19 testing sites across the country, including two new self-swab sites in Buffalo.

In partnership with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services the two self-swab testing sites will be the Rite Aid stores at 1070 Genesee Street and 476 William Street.

"The new testing sites will utilize self-swab tests overseen by Rite Aid pharmacists and will operate through the store’s drive-through window. All adults 18 years of age or older, even if they are not exhibiting virus symptoms, are eligible for testing and can begin pre-registering online today at www.riteaid.com to schedule a time slot for testing," a release states.

Testing sites will operate Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

To be tested you must be 18-years-old, have a government issued identification and pre-register online for a time slot.

Two other Rite Aid stores in WNY are also offering COVID-19 testing, those locations are 2474 Bailey Avenue in Buffalo and 1030 Pine Avenue in Niagara Falls.
