ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WKBW) — The Village of Orchard Park has shutdown all public playgrounds and other outdoor recreational facilities in an effort to discourage people from gathering during the coronavirus pandemic.
Playgrounds, tennis courts, basketball courts, bocce courts and baseball diamonds on village property and Orchard Park Central School properties are all now closed until further notice.
Officials say this step is needed to accomplish the public health authority recommendation of practicing social distancing.
Parks and walking trails remain open but people are encouraged to avoid walking in groups.
