WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. (WKBW) — Organizers for Old Home Days announced the festival has been canceled for 2020 due to COVID-19.
In a statement the organizers said in part:
"Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, we must unfortunately cancel Old Home Days for 2020. We examined many different aspects as to how we could hold our annual event, but came back to the same premise that the safety of our customers, volunteers, vendors, and organization members is imperative.
We explored plans to keep patrons safe by: renting portable hand washing units, buying vast quantities of hand sanitizer, having our amusement ride vendor sanitize the rides after each use, develop relationships with vendors that could provide face masks, and explored options as to how we could safely socially distance."
Organizers say they are saddened by the cancellation, but look forward to Old Home days 2021 which is scheduled for July 13 to July 16, 2021.
