A member of the Canisius High School community tested positive for COVID-19.
That's according to a letter from the school nurse that went out to parents on Saturday.
The letter, dated March 21, said this is the first case in the Canisius High School community. It also said the individual had been in self-isolation for the past eight days. But, now that person is under mandatory quarantine per C.D.C guidelines.
There's no word on the person's condition.
The school said it is taking the necessary steps to notify those the individual may have come in contact with prior to their diagnosis. It also said it is continuing a deep clean of its facilities.
