BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Eleven more people have died from COVID-19 in Erie County, county executive Mark Poloncarz tweeted Wednesday night.
The new numbers bring the total number of deaths in Erie County from the virus to 188.
There are now more than 2,500 cases of the coronavirus in Erie County. More than a third of those cases are in the city of Buffalo.
The Erie County Medical Center is using state funding to expand its testing capability. The hospital, working jointly with Kaleida Health, announced Wednesday it will provide COVID-19 testing to anyone in the general public who has received a prescription from their primary care doctor.
