Erie County Medical Center begins COVID-19 vaccinations for frontline workers

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Erie County Medical Center began administering the first COVID-19 vaccinations for their frontline workers on Wednesday.

The hospital says Stacey Forgensi a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist at ECMC received the first vaccine, which was administered by Vanessa McDonough, a Licensed Practical Nurse in ECMC’s Center for Occupational and Environmental Medicine.

ECMC says this is in accordance with CDC and New York State Department of Health Guidelines.

This follows frontline workers at Kaleida Health receiving COVID-19 vaccinations on Tuesday.
