BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — ECMC announced Friday the first confirmed inpatient case of COVID-19 at its facility.
The test was performed Monday on a patient who is an ECMC employee, not a clinician, that person is in very good condition according to ECMC.
The patient was met outside of the emergency department and has been in isolation since Monday, ECMC says the patient is currently being discharged.
Prior to the patient being tested, the employee chose to wear a mask at work during the flu season.
Erie County announced Friday there are 36 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the county.
