BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) — Hey buddy, can you spare a dime?

That's what some business owners are saying, due to a coin and cash shortage caused by the COVID-19 crisis.

The Federal Reserve says this is all happening because of the nationwide shutdown orders.

They say when bars, restaurants and other businesses were forced to close, that broke up the normal flow of bills and coins.

Now more and more businesses across the nation are having a hard time getting coins and bills to use as change for their customers.

The fact that many people are shopping cashless is only adding to the problem.
