BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz says hospitalizations due to COVID-19 in the county are on the increase.
On Sunday, Poloncarz tweeted that hospitalizations have increased from the low point of 31 on July 1st, to 42 as of Saturday.
I will have more on this tomorrow, but our Covid-19 hospitalizations in Erie County are increasing. The lowest it had been recently was on July 1 at 31 patients. Statewide, there are just over 800 hospitalizations, according to an update from New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

62,418 tests were performed yesterday. 677 tests came back positive (1.08% of total).
Total hospitalizations are at 801.

So far there have been over 7,600 COVID-19 cases in Erie County and 646 people have died.
