AMHERST, N.Y. (WKBW) — The Amherst Central School District is making moves to combat the spread of COVID-19.
On Thursday, district leaders announced that all of its outdoor fields and playgrounds are closed. Appropriate signage has also been placed in this areas. According to the district, the decision aligns with federal guidelines for social distancing and in light of projections for the apex of confirmed cases of coronavirus in the coming weeks.
Areas closed are the entire stadium complex (turf field and track), all tennis and basketball courts, playgrounds and any other playing areas including baseball and softball fields.
