FREDONIA, N.Y. (WKBW) — Like many of us, 9-year-old Jacob Gagola has been anxious about the uncertainty created by the coronavirus pandemic.

His mother, Ashley, says he has had a hard time sleeping since schools were closed as a precaution.

Inspired by stories of people going without some essentials and calls from elected officials to check on their elderly neighbors, Jacob found a way to to overcome his fears by helping others.

Jacob created "essential bags" with toilet paper, water and canned goods and dropped them off at the homes of his older neighbors. His mom says he even included "pick me up" notes on each bag.

Ashley says Jacob's mood has completely changed.

"I'm not even trying to think about the virus, and I'm having a good time just making these bags!"

Thank you for being #BuffaloStrong Jacob!
