BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — 10,000 wellness bags will be distributed to families at Buffalo Public Schools Wednesday.

Independent Health and the Independent Health Foundation have teamed up with Pegula Sports & Entertainment to provide essential items to City of Buffalo families during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The wellness bags will be distributed at 28 Buffalo Public Schools during their regular lunch pick-up Wednesday.

The free wellness bags contain: hand sanitizer, reusable masks, soap, washcloths, toothpaste, toothbrushes, other personal items, inflatable soccer beach ball, jump rope, and sidewalk chalk for kids.

"The Foundation secured and purchased many items for the wellness bags from local businesses to support the local economy, and several area businesses and organizations donated funds or products to make this giveaway possible," a release states.
