Continuing calls for councilman to resign in Cheektowaga

Posted

Some residents of Cheektowaga spoke up against Councilman James Rogowski, Tuesday night. They want him to resign, claiming he is a distraction after being arrested for criminal contempt and menacing by the West Seneca Police Department, last month.

A fellow councilman, Brian Nowak, is also calling for his resignation. In a letter he wrote last week he said:

"With faith in elected officials near an all-time low. The town of Cheektowaga does not need this continuing distraction."

He also wrote:

"We all deserve the opportunity for redemption and second chances but in my view, that redemption should not be done as a sitting member of the Cheektowaga Town Council."

Nowak wouldn't go on camera, but told us tonight he stands by his statements.

Rogowski has also chosen not to speak about the arrest on camera. Referring questions to his lawyer.
