The Buffalo community is taking a stand against recent violence. There have been eight homicides in Buffalo since January 1st.
"We don't want our job to just be burying the dead," said Pastor Darius Pridgen of True Bethel Baptist Church. "It is how do you keep the ones who are here alive.
Pridgen called a community meeting with young people from the community to build relationships and talk about the recent rash of violence.
"Many of the young people in this area are living in the recent shadow of violence," Pridgen said.
Young people, filled out a questionnaire, with a chance to vent about the recent violence.
"I'm a little scared that it will come our way, where we live," said Alfred, one young attendee. "I just want it to stop."
Pridgen plans on taking all of the information from those at the meeting back with him to City Hall.
