Buffalo Public Schools introduced families and organizations around Bennett High School to its community schools program Wednesday night.

Bennett is one of 13 community schools in the district, and one of six currently looking for organizations and companies interested in providing services and programming. Community schools offer health, dental and wellness services along with continuing education for students, parents and adults in the surrounding neighborhood. Adult education courses range from parenting and financial management to language courses and vocational training.

Businesses and organizations interested in becoming a part of the community schools program can offer services to families and ongoing workshops and educational programs. Right now, the district is adding programming for the following community schools: Westminster Charter School, Southside Elementary School, Bennett High School, East High School, Lafayette High School, and South Park High School.
