New York is taking action when it comes to protecting the environment.
The state is investing nearly $2 million in funding in the fight against invasive species, both on land, and in the water.
The money will be split between local governments, colleges and non-profit organizations that work to control invasive species threatening various ecosystems throughout the Empire State.
