Officials say Jennifer McAlmont, 21, of Brooklyn took her own life. Grief counseling was made available at 11 a.m. Sunday to students.

Daemen President Gary Olson released a statement, saying in part, "We extend our heartfelt thoughts and prayers to Jennifer’s family and friends and to all those who have been touched by her life. Daemen is offering grief counseling and support services to those affected by this devastating loss. During this difficult time, the college requests respect for the privacy and needs of the family, friends and Daemen students affected by this tragedy."
